6th Station - Veronica wipes the face of Jesus
We adore You, O Christ, and we praise you. For by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.
Verse: Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’ And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’. (Matthew 25:37-40)
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, many came to watch You die. Some came to show sorrow for You. But only one consoled You and showed mercy. I am sorry for all the times I watched you suffer in other people and did not act in mercy. Jesus, I repent of all my sins. I love You with all my heart. Holy Spirit, grant me the grace to console and support others and to sacrifice and suffer with those in need. Amen.
