8th Station - Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem
We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you.
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
Verse: A large crowd of people followed Jesus, including many women who mourned and lamented him. Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children.” (Luke 34:27-28)
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, through all you suffered you did not look for pity, but instead continued to be concerned for others. I weep for my sins [and for the sins of my children and grand-children]. Jesus, I repent of all my sins. I love you with all my heart. Holy Spirit, grant that I never seek to be consoled, but rather to console others. Amen.
