Holiness - A Parable

This Guided Path begins with the definitions of holy and unholy as meant in the Hebrew text of Scripture. The path continues by showing why we need to be holy as related to salvation, eternal life, abundant life and the Kingdom of God. The reader will learn about holy attitudes needed towards both God and self. The true Biblical meanings of sin and evil, according to the Hebrew text, are revealed; including how sin affects holiness. The path concludes with with an overview of tools available through the Catholic Church to live a life of holiness.

Meditation questions are included so the reader can seek the Holy Spirit for guidance with their life of holiness.

Living Abundant Life

Inheriting the Kingdom of God

Jesus said all those who believe in Him have Eternal Life; but He also said not everyone who says 'Lord, Lord' will inherit the Kingdom of God. This lesson explains salvation as it pertains to Eternal life, the Kingdom of God, and Purgatory. Learn the role of holiness in all three.

Jesus also said that He came so we can have Abundant Life. This lesson explores the differences between Eternal Life and Abundant Life, how we can have Eternal Life but not a life of Abundance and how holiness is the answer.

Holy Attitudes Towards God

In order to be holy, we need to have holy attitudes towards God. We say "God loves me"; but do we really know what that means? When we say we love God, what should that mean?

Lesson 6

Holy Attitudes Towards Self

God wants to make us holy. But we can block holiness if we do not have holy attitudes about our self. Feeling too bad about sin leads to weakness of faith. But to have no remorse about sin is to reject holiness. We need balance.

The Relationship Between Holiness and Sin

This lesson combines all previous lessons to give a perspective of what it is like to live a life of holiness. The path of holiness unfolds step by step and each step is supported by a reference to Scripture, 39 verses in total.

This lesson focuses on the meanings of sin and evil as defined in the original Hebrew text of Scripture. A correlation is made between sin and venial sin, evil and mortal sin. Can one be holy and still sin? This lesson explains.

Tools of the Catholic Church for Holiness

From the Mass to Reconciliation, Saints to indulgences, there is no better way of being holy than following the Catholic Church. The Church is not just where and how we worship, it is God's gift to bring holiness and Abundant Life.
